water leak

Default water leak

1996 polaris sportsman 500. i have water leaking from where the pull start housing bolts to the engine. any thoughts.

theres a drain plug at the bottom, take that out and let everything dry out really good, make sure ur handle is seated all the way when ur riding, might even need to add a little silicon to make sure water doesn't get in there anymore

I would remove recoil housing and see how rusted everything inside is, clean it up then re=seal everything

On some models Polaris put a weep hole between the pull start and the crank case. If your model has a weep hole then it is a good chance that the water seal has gone bad.
