Rear CV boot leak - could it just be a loose clamp?
#11
The $56 figure is for in canada. The 36 figure you got is for the older style type of clamp. The 46 is the 08 and up price. Some 08's have the older clamp.
In Canada the clamp alone is $8 for the large clamp.
People say they get them for the 20 dollar range have older model machines. Will their clamps work, yes since they can be tighnened. the new style stepless clamps come one size. not able to be made tighter.
If that clamp has loosened up then your options are to get just a new inner clamp (small one)(also the cheaper one) or buy an aftermarket clamp.
The clamps that are made for automotive applications don't go tight enough in my opinion and they also are too narrow for the wide groove on the polaris boots.
If you get aftermarket I suggest atv clamps.
P.S. The small clamp can be installed with some good pliers. The large on almost always needs the dealer clamp tool to install. I haven't had any luck getting a large one on.
