Default Scrambler Recoil starter rope

OK, so I got a 99 scrambler from my dad, quad has been taken care of, but the starter rope is broken. any special tricks to know before I tear it apart to attempt to fix? Also, any suggestion on type of rope to use? I got lots of paracord and am wondering if it would do the trick. (Worked for my stihl so should work for an ATV right?)

550 Paracord seems a little light to me. The other guys can tell you how to change it.

Default Fixed it.

OK, so I got the starter housing off and replaced the rope (only took two hours!!!), now just waiting for the trails in my area to open up. If anyone needs to know how to replace the starter rope on a Polaris Scrambler 400 4X4 let me know...I got it down! LOL

bigcam400, yeah I saw that there little plastic wheel thingy...guesed it was spring loaded and didn't want any part of that. Biggest issue was getting the dang bolt out around the driveshaft. that and popping the actual housing loose from the block. gotter all back together so now it's gigady gigady off to the races.
