From the oil tank to the oil pump there is a small filter that can be changed if you like. Be sure to bleed the pump after filter change to remove any air (10 mm bolt on top of oil pump) just open up a little until all bubbles are gone. Check condition of small hose from pump to cylinder. Not necessary to change 2-stoke oil, just top off tank holds 2 quarts, will go through several tanks of gas before needing more oil. As mentioned this is the engine oil, none in the crankcase. The separate gear case takes Polaris gear case oil or suitable oil for chain drive gear cases. OPT

is there no counterbalance on the 250? I know I have to have 4oz of motor oil in my 400 for this. The 250's must not have this

18ozs. Use Castrol Syntec 5w50 and you will not have any trouble with the chain in the trans.

I can't say yea or nea on the 5w50 but, if that's the equal to the $14 a quart polaris AGL (polaris recommended) then go for it and once I run out of my quart next year that's what I'll use too. Cause I know it's much cheaper than the stuff I've been using from polaris
