Default smokin belts

I put a set of 26 zillas on my 500h.o. so far they are great but the clutching isnt quite up to snuff on the low end in the mud. Its to easy to burn the belt. Will a clutch kit like Dalton help with this or is there individual components to buy that would work better. I could care less about top end just bottom and mid. Right now all my components are new polaris stock parts.

I would go to the EPI website. They have good clutching info and a cool vid with a clutched sp on 28's and one not clutched.

Your smoking belts with 26" tires??? Are you using low range when in the mud? Clutch kits will help out but I wouldn't think it's needed. EPI, Dalton or speedwerx make good kits.

I have always had good luck with EPI kits and oem belts. Also like readymixer said, be sure to use low when pulling, mudding, etc. and you should get a ton of life out of your belt.

X2 on using low gear. I have a belt with over 2700 miles of harsh riding. Very little easy terrain. Belt is still good. If you have been using low range....

oh ya i use low gear. Just some real technical stuff were you kinda of just want enough throtle to get over a stump under the mud, so you can quickly jump to the other side. I notice with the grip of the bigger tires, its just not quite like it used to be. I wonder if EPI would make me a kit. The ones they show on the web are for 27-28" tires mainly. Also they have some weird categories of kits that don't really explain the packages on the net all that well. Maybe a phone call will be in order.

I always used their big tire kit. My 05 800 had almost 2000 miles with an oem belt, 6" lift, and turning 29.5 laws and it was still good as new. My 09 800 had 8"'s of lift turning 32" terminators and had about 500 hard miles on it when I sold it with no belt issues.

Love that video! A little overdramatized though (comparing outlaws to mudlights or something) but the point is still the same. I run the EPI kit for "oversize tires" on my 2010 500 HO. I still have the stockers on and it runs well, lots of bottom end, gives better throttle control too so the tires turn, not spin. Just waiting to get some coin to get the tire/rim package. It raised my engagement from 1800 to 2200 which I don't mind. It didn't give much extra holeshot, but the powerband when WOT after a deceleration is fantastic. I got their severe duty belt too, I didn't have any problems, but I read about people having major issues with aftermarket belts. I had to adjust spacers and shims when I changed the belt FYI to be sure displacement/backshift were proper.

Give us a call and ask for the tech department and we will help you find the right kit for your riding. You'll get better performance and less belt slippage!
