Either from the added strain on the system OR could have had defective belt that finally separated. Try another belt and with in a couple hundred miles you will know! If you drive around in hi range a lot at slow speeds can cook a belt, big tires or not! P.S WELCOME to the forum! OPT

NOPE! Belts are not covered like they used to be,BUT no harm trying. Take the old belt to see if you can find any defective area ,THEN it can be warrantied! I had a chart on the wall showing about 9 different ways a belt could be destroyed and only 2 were warranty considered . OPT

the biggest reason for belt failures is most likely excess heat build up form stress. meaning you should be using low range w/ the bigger tires on it when you playing hard w/ it say in mud or towing. the bike when going slow is not turning the clutches fast enough(like 5 mph for extended time) to keep the belt cool. the manul says to use low while going under a certain speed(at least it use too) for just that reason i do beleave. like otp says i'm guessing(unless you have a great dealer) they won't warranty it. if they can find one burn mark on the belt then theres thier reason for denieing it

I agree, taller tires and slow speeds in high range equals a lot more heat for the belt to deal with; I personally would upgrade the clutch with a kit designed for taller tires if I was going to run taller than stock tires.

Wouldn't the after market tyres void your warranty anyway, at least in your dealer's eyes?
