Question 2012 Rumor Mill

Any Rumors or ideas on what comming or what you would like to see??? I have a feeling we will see more of the XP chassis. But will we see the 900 in the sportsman XP frame??? I think maybe the X2 or the Touring but would be suprised to see it in a Sportsman XP chassis.

There not after much more power for ATVs, if that was the case Polaris would just throw there Weber Built 750cc twin 4 stroke they been using for years in there there sleds and PWCs into there ATV.

The 750 has more HP than any ATV motor out there, even ones with a 250cc displacement advantage. Tires with 5psi are just not meant to go 100 MPH like sleds without law suits pending.

the 800 / 850cc twins from polaris & can-am are more then capable of hp well into the 100's. There's no need to replace it with a 900 or 1000cc motor and they know that. After riding my rene 800x & my 850 xp- I can't imagine what any 4x4 atv would encounter requiring more power to get through It's not a matter of just upping the power in the motor, you also have to redesign every other component to handle that power reliably- and that's expensive!

Plus, who wants an atv that can only go 60 miles on one tank of gas

I'd like to see power steering in the X2 and would be nice if they can go back to the 6 gallon tank like mine has.

I believe my 850xp has a 6.2 gallon .
I got around 20 mpg up in the white mtns- not too bad.

Even though the new xp is a lot better at taking the deflection out of the bumps and the more I ride over the rocky new england trails and suffer numb hands from my bad wrists, the more that EPS is on my mind...

That is true if Polaris,AC ,Yamaha and Can AM did put there 145hp Snowmobile motors in there ATVs they would get 50 miles to 5 gallons of gas. LOL

My sled gets 120 miles on its large 11 gal tank on a good day.

The XP 550/850 have both have a 5.25 tank, even there X2 and Touring models. like the old days. http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...le2=2172&go=Go

in that case- I got more then 20 mpg

I got about 120 miles on one tank... so that puts it at bouot 23mpg- not bad for a 1000lb atv (759lbs + me & the cargo)

Your doing good, its does matter on the type of riding you do, my friend's new 800 Sportsmans gets about 60 miles if he rides at high speeds on the logging roads and 80miles on slow trail riding, but the 800 has a small 4.1 gal tank.

Can,t believe Polaris puts a tiny tank like that on a large 760cc motor. The 300 Sportsman has a larger tank. LOL 2011 Polaris Sportsman® 800 EFI ATVs

tank size jumps up to 6 gal on the 09 800's- wonder why they'd go to a smaller tank for the new models
