theres no way a scrambler500 could outrun a 400ex... my little 96 blaster with only a DG pipe/silencer,boyesen reeds, and oil injector taken off are the only mods to the MOTOR [original piston and rings], and my blaster always used to leave my friends 2000 Scrambler500 in the dust last summer.a 400ex would definately kill the scrambler.

When I got my 400 Scrambler I bought a speedo for it mainly to keep track of mileage put on the machine. It goes up to 60mph. When my Scrambler was stock I could peg it out. I always wondered if it was screwed up or not until the cops in my area placed one of those trailered radar displays on the side of the road down from my house. It clocked me at 62 (on pavement). It wasn't long after that the new 500 HO came out and I happened to run into a guy with one at our riding area. He outran me by a pretty good bit in about a 1/4 mile straight away on a level mining road. A good friend of mine has a 2001 SC500 and can hang with me for about 10 or 15 yards (depending on how much wheel spin I get ) and mine is pretty damn fast now. I wish I could find another one of those radar trailers to clock my Scrambler at it's present state.

This has to be one of the most hillarious posts I've ever seen. I couldnt make sense out of the majority of your posts Hare but you sure got some chuckles out of me. I DO have a Scrambler Hare and in my humble opinion I would have to say that the speedometer is not calibrated correctly, ATV's are notorious for inaccurate speedometers. I dont have a speedometer on my Scram but I do not believe in any way shape or form that 70mph will ever be felt by me on my Scram unless I jump it out of the back of an airplane. I have only ridden once with a 400EX and my Scram is a 97 so it doesnt have the same power as the newer models but the stock EX can easily blow my doors off. As stated my 97 is underpowered as compared to the 01 but I have a little bit of a weight advantage (little bit). Hare you may beat a EX in some situations like mud or ruff hills but in top speed only dont go looking for a fight with a giant.
