Default Coming Back to Polaris

I sold my 05' Brute 750 which was basically a fuel drinking torque beast....thats about it. It was a blast for the 2 years I had it but I finally decided to go back to my original stomping grounds. Going tomorrow to check out a 07' SP 500 EFI with the Polaris brush guard, winch, and BIG lock and ride rear storage box with back rest. I had an 06' before that I sold with a broken roller cage, thus the reason I sold it never to own another 1. So much for that. You just can't beat the ride.

The 07 is the beginning of offering billet aluminum roll cages as an option on replacement parts. On the Pure Polaris Parts breakdown list it shows TWO #5 roll cage numbers, one is the plastic I assume as the other one shows to be the billet one but lists it as (opt) which again I assume is OPTIONAL?? The 2009 500 efi does show only the billet roll cage as a replacement part! OPT ( I guess I'm optional too!!

the bf 750 is a nice bike but as you mentioned it don't hold a candle to the sportsman in ride or comfort. imo

Brought the 07 500efi home today. 1st thing, did polaris change the steering any on the 07? I ask because it seems to turn sharper than my 06' 500 I had 2 years ago. Seat seems to be softer than 06' as well. I love it. No comparison to the 05' Brute I had (except for no adrenalin rush on acceleration)

Looks to be no changes between a 2006 and 2007 2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI ATVs

The 500EFI was only made between 2006 and 2009 and it looks like it never had a change, other then they fixed the ECM problem for 2007. http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...1=93627&go2=Go

If I,m getting what OPT is saying, the Polaris ATVs still comes with a plastic roller cage but once it breaks and you replace it they will offer a metal roller cage?

Why not just build the ATV with metal cages in the first place and send all the plastic cages back to China?

It's called build cheaper and charge more. Like everything else. I had an 01' Sp400 I bought new. THAT was the best built sportsman I ever owned. Put 4000+ miles and only few minor repairs.

If it breaks I'v got 10,200miles on my plastic cage with no problems .

Depends how you ride, my dad has 7500 miles on his SP500 and I doubt he used awd for 10 of those miles.

But there is enough post on this site and Highlifter's to know the platic roller cage is much weaker and prone to breaking.
