XP purchase dilemma
#1
I'm somewhat torn on what to buy right now.
I'd like to get a 2011 XP 550 EPS for my wife but am seeing too many posts around net about broken axles because Polaris put in smaller, cheaper and apparently more fragile axles for 2011.
Is the broken axle issue really that common on the 2011's?
We are mainly trail riders but do a small amount of technical/rock riding at times.
• Look for a 2010 model? What do I lose out on? Smaller gas tank? Different clutching?
• Wait until 2012 models and hope issue has been addressed?
• Purchase a Grizzly 550 EPS? She likes the Polaris more. I could go either way.
Thanks!

i haven't read about too many axle issues. if the bike is stock and theres no rips in the cv boots(this is the most common issue that leads to cv faliure) then the bike is fine for what ever kind of riding you do. imo

If you aren't lifting it, putting 30" tires on it and sticking it in every mud pit you can find, you should not have any issues with the axels. I trail ride and rock climb with my 2011 XP 850 and never a problem.
