well the wifee has been wanting to do more riding with me lately and it seems a bit much for the suspension on my TB. SO while in town the other day I stopped in my local atv dealer and they had an 08' 550 touring for $4600. Body was in great shape, tires look almost new, I believe it has 4wd as well. Is this a descent price for one of these? I don't know how many hours/miles it has on it, but I can call and find out if I need to. Also the color was the maroonish redish kind of color. I don't want to get rid of mine but would like to be able to take her out riding and this one gives me the excuse of getting something with 4wd . I just don't know much about the pricing on these things. THANKS!

 

I think that is a great price if miles are under 1,000....basically half of what a new one goes for

 

I need to make a correction... it's a 500HO not a 550. My curiousity got the best of me and I had to ride back into town and take a look at it. It's only got 36 miles on it. The salesman said an older gentleman bought it for him and his wife and right after he bought it he became ill and eventually died and the wife wants it gone. It's being sold for consignment at $4695. I may go down there this weekend to show the wife and see what we can work out if everybody thinks this is a great deal... I can't see how it wouldn't be, but I've never really been in the market for a utility type quad before.

 

ok so its not a 2up machine? a regular 500ho sportsman new sell for $4,995 I believe...so at $4,695 isn't that great of a price

I bought my 07 sportsman 500x2 (deluxe) with 200 miles on it from a dealer for $4,700 in May of 2009....it also came with a winch

 

I didn't think the 550 came out until 09 as the xp model- isn't the 08 touring a 500 (unless you're talking about a sled)

 

no I'm sorry... lemme try this again. It's a 2008 500HO touring. It's a 2up machine with adc, awd/4wd, and turf mode. No power steering. And it's red. I was updating from what I said before but forgot to add back the rest of it

 

It sounds like a good deal to me but you can look it up at nada or kbb to see what it's worth.
