Xplorer 400...clutching...carb...or??

my 400 xplorer out preforms my buddys kaw V-twin 650 prairie every where sept wide open feilds,..he keep lookin at my bear claws an sayin man i like them tires!!

ya the 11t is on the output shaft of the tranny. but polaris never used the center chain to modify gearing. it was done on the front and back. with a 34 driven on rear it will have a 13 drive on the front chain.

94-98 400 sportsman/xplorer/400l
13-22 front
11-22 center
13-34 rear

95-97 400 scram
12-22 front
11-22 center
12-38 rear

95-98 400 magnum/97 scambler 500
11-22 front
11-22 center
12-38 rear

so now you know what to ask the parts guy when you want to change your gearing and he needs part numbers.

mine's a '95,...witch one be the lowest for it??

your's is an xplorer right?

they are geared the highest.
400 scrambler middle
425, 500, and 250 are lowest.

looks like a messed one up
scrambler 400 should be
13-38 rear

350 used similiar gearing to the scrambler, but different sprockets
11-22 front
11-22 middle
12-34 rear
