Kodiak vs non-HO Sportaman

All I can say to that is that in the real world you're not "waiting" for me to have it at the proper revs in the right gear. I do anyway. I'll be the first to admit that the Wolverine is a little more work to wring the most out of it. It's not like an automatic, which is just a gas and go kind of thing. But you know yourself that you're not going to lose me in the trails, which is about as "real world" as it gets. Trail riding we are not stopping every 1/2 mile and drag racing. We tried before and we can try again, with a rolling start they're pretty even.

While you are back on the price issue Tim1,I paid 900 $ more for my ruby then I would have paid for a HO,and the ruby is suited for me and yes the 500 is cheaper near your area but I would never purchace any Polaris product from anyone but here in Sudbury because of the mostlikely frequent trips for repairs,I have been there done that.

If they ever come out with pipes and mods for the Ruby it would cost a additional $900 to stay with the H.O.
The only thing all of these ATV magazines can agree on is that the H.O is in a league of it,s on in power compare to all the othe 500 4x4s.
Even the non-H.O Magnum 500 is neck and neck with the Rubicon and that bike costs even less than the Sportsman.Who wants to pay more for less anyways?
You can tell me all about the Polaris is going to break done thing but it's been 3 years now for me, when does this break down stuff start to happen?

Tim1,you always refering to the shoot in dirt wheels about the magnum being the same speed as the rubicon and then you say that you sp 500 is the same as a magnum. In the shoot out in atv magazine 1999,there test showed that the magnum had a 2 mph advantage over the sp 500 and also the magnum reached the 150 feet mark going a full 2mph faster again then the sp 500 and in dirt wheels shoot out the rubicon clearly out accelarated the magnum, the phrase you keep referring to is only on top end.

I ride with a wolverine on a fairly regular basis. My 2000 Explorer 400 will out accelerate, out top end and out mud the Wolverine. It seems like he is always having to totaly wring the crap out of the air cooled 350 to get it to even come close to hanging with the Explorer. The Scram 400 that rides with us really shows the Wolwerine the way home. It seems as if the Wolverine could switch from 2 to 4 wheel drive like the 400 and some of the other quads it might give it a leg up in some situations.

Explain to me, please, how switching into 2wd would help the Wolverine be any more competitive with an Xplorer 400 and Scrambler 400. They are both rated at well over 30hp, while the Wolverine is rated at a little over twenty.
How on earth would being in 2wd help it??? I really want to hear someone explain that one to me, cause I just don't understand your logic at all.
What's amazing is that the Wolverine does as well as it does. Yes, you have to wring it neck to get the most out of it, but it takes the abuse and keeps going.
