Default replacing rear gearcase seals

After a good ride yesterday i noticed that the seal where the rear axle goes into the gearcase was leaking oil. After a few hours of wrenching on it to get the gearcase out, is there anything special that i need to know before replacing the seal? I am planning on replacing both of them since it is all apart. I don't want to have to try and get those axles back out again...NOT FUN!! Going to get some anti-seize on there before they go back together. Thanks in advance!!

Why did you remove the entire thing? All you have to do is pull the axle.

I keep the atv at my mother in laws house (2hrs away), and i wanted to be able to have it all ready to go next time we go riding, so i took it out to bring it home to work on. There isn't a real good selection of tools at her house either. Its not hard to get out once you get the axles out.

I forgot to mention that this is for a 2006 sportsman 800.
