Default 07 Polaris Sportsman 500 Plowing Question

Hi,

I am thinking about getting a snow plow for my 07 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI.

I have a couple of questions though:

Does plowing cause any damage to the frame? Does it put to much torque on an ATV?

Has anybody used the Cycle Country V-Plows? Are they any good? If not, which plows are good?

Sorry for all the dumb questions.

Thanks for any help.

the wheeler shoould be able to handle what you can plow. your limitation will not be how strong the frame is, rather traction. once you cant push any miore and your tires spin, that's the wheeler's limit. good luck!

Tire chains and weights should help this problem somewhat.

As stated before, traction will be key. I can easily push 8-12" of snow with my sp500 with no problems until I lose traction on long runs, Angling the blade does help so that your not creating a huge snowball in front weighing several hundred pounds though. Always use low range and you'll be fine. I personally have the polaris glacier II which came with my sportsman and IMO. it's just OK. I've looked at the moose, cycle country and warn plows and they all seem to be built much stronger.

Throw a couple of sandbags on the rear rack and you won't believe how much you can plow. I plowed the street after a snowstorm closed down most of the city.

Question now, what plow to get? Are Glacier okay? Or should I get a better quality plow?

Sorry for all the questions.

The Glacier I is nice if you can find one. I wouldn't get the Glacier II. A lot of guys had problems with the mount bending.

I am thinking about getting this one:
Cycle Country ATV V Force Plow Blade, LOWEST PRICES on Cycle Country ATV V Force Plow Blade

Not sure if it is worth it to spend more on a v or just get a straight?

I would get a straight plow. It does everything I need.
