I picked up a 2001 sportsman 500 HO Remington edition. 472 hours for 1000 bucks. I am fairly new to Polaris, but I really like it so far. I don't miss shifting and love the smooth ride!

 

Any 2000 or newer 4x4 for $1000 is a great deal even if you have to do some wrenching.

 

KBB says it should retail for $2,730 and NADA says $2,060. You got a great deal.

that is a great deal IMHO, even if you have to do some stuff, I picked up a 700 sportsman last year for $3200

 

From the other view my wife sold 1 of my 2002 500HO's for $1000 to her sister after I said I would sell it for $2000, they pick it up next week and my wife will be glad to see 1 more toy gone!! So you and my BIL both got great deals.

Up here in Canada $1000 will be lucky buy a 250 2wd ATV that runs.

I sold my 89 4wd 350 BigBear with no electric Start (Pull rope only) and only working back brakes with a zillion miles on it for $1700 Five years ago.

A 3 wheeler in good condition sells for $800.
