I've heard that the stockers like they have on your tester are lousy. At least the 489s mine came with did well in everything I drove them through. They had Goodyear Rawhides before the 489s and my buddies still have them on their Sportsmans, all 2002s. (They don't put as many miles on as I do)

We have 3-4 sets of new tires to try out. Probably tomorrow I an going to put a set of new Carlisle ACTs on it and head back up the same canyon.
ACTs so far have been my favorite snow tire and my favorite all around tire are STI Black Diamond XTRs, I have really liked those.
I think it's funny that this forum doesn't have a thread just to discuss tires.
I am enjoying this new Touring.

Why didn't they loan you an 850? Was it because you have been riding a Honda and they didn't want to scare you???
How about that power steering?
Are Bighorns included in your multiple sets of tires to try? That's all I run and it's always fun to hear what others think about them. I've never ridden the Paiute trail, but have done Moab multiple times. Love it out there. Nothing else like it. Looking at your pictures you posted from yesterdays ride, it reminds me of the riding around here except that the trail isn't as rocky. Beautiful country!

After riding this one I seriously doubt that I would ever buy an ATV without EPS, it's a great addition.
I've had Big Horns and I am not a big fan of them. They lasted a long time but thats about it. IMO they don't handle all that well and have poor lateral control. I think there are a lot better tires out there than the Big Horns.
I've only taken my ATV to Moab once and had a great time. Years ago we used to do the Easter Jeep Safari with our 4-wds until it got too crowded.
We live in the Rocky Mountains and I think you can see where they got their name.
