What's the next tire on the list?

Carlisle Black Rocks. I'm looking forward to them because they are mounted on the OE wheels.

I just don't care for the tires sticking out and flipping crap all over me.

Ya, I'm getting old.

How's you Pitbulls doing???

They work awesome in the snow, however, I'm going to put the Horns back on for the rest of the snow season. The PB's are showing a little wear from spinning and digging through the snow down to the dirt. My last ride in the snow the GPS showed 25 miles and the odometer showed 29 miles. No sense tearing them up when I have my other tires in the rafters collecting dust. This gives me a good excuse to buy some new wheels to mount them on. I'm going to try the STI HD2 wheels. They have a 14x7 wheel with a 6+1 offset that match's the OEM wheel offset. They are made for the 570 and 800 RZR's, but STI assures me they also fit the 550 and 850 XP's. We will see. I hope they work out because I don't want the tires out past the fenders.

My Black Diamond XTRs are mounted on those same HD2 wheels and the front tires are 26x9x14.
The tires do stick out past the fenders.

Well, that is unfortunate. I guess the silver lining is that I know they will fit my atv.

Have you had the opportunity to beat them against some rocks? Just curious how the finish holds up.

They do have less offset and stick out less than any other wheel on the market today from what I've been told.

I've smacked some rocks hard enough I was serprised that I didn't ruin a tire or break the wheel.

I'm looking for something I wrote explaining the difference between STI wheels and others. As soon as I find it I'll post it.

They are very strong wheels and built differnt than the others.

Thanks, I put 5 psi in them yesterday and it improved them quite a bit.

I think they did better in the snow with less air pressure but they did better everywhere else. I'll get in a little more ride time today. They are very aggressive tires.

And yes you're right about the plys.

Grim Reapers and more snow 2/3/2012 - YouTube

If I would have had another rider or a winch I would have given it another shot and I am quite sure I would have made it the second try but not worth the chance.

I aired up from 3 to 5 psi. I think the lower presure did better in the snow but they handle and do better everywhere else with the added air pressure. They do ride a lot stiffer.

They are great snow tires.
