I used it all winter too because I ride most days. If I wasn't going to ride for a few days with snow in the forcast I used my travel cover.

The right side plastic that covers the engine gets really hot on the 850, too hot to rest your leg against it and I use my legs to "squeeze" the ATV to help me hold on.

The same plastic on the 550 get hot to but not as hot as the plastic on the 850.

Can you provide a link for this? I'm having the hardest time finding it on their site. Thanks.

I guess I should have looked before posting. I called and they don't have them anymore.

I'll see if I can find a brand so I can do more research.

I'll keep looking.

Rats! I was hoping to get them a little cheaper. Thanks for the info, Specta. I'll look around now that I know the brand.

WOW!! I never checked the price!!

I wonder if one of the distributors would sell them for less.

At that price I'm guessing Rocky Mountain had a pile of them and wanted to get them out of thier inventory?? I bought 3 because they were so cheep at $8.

If you're going to play in the snow get the 850. Having enough power to spin the wheels in high in the deep snow is the only way to fly.

The rear sway bar is coming off the 550 as soon as I get it back from the shop.

My seat and the seat on the 850 got too warm yesterday - I don't like the heat that comes off the right side of the engine, it gets too hot to hold on to the machine with your legs and it seems that the machine is pretty wide to begin with.

I only rode about 30 miles and it was cool enough outside that I needed a sweatshirt to be comfortable and even got into some snow. Makes me wonder just how hot this 850 is going to get in July when its 90+ and you're on a long ride.

I really don't care for the seats on these Tourings. They are not all that comfortable.
