Its both the engine and the CVT - kind of strange that's its as noisey as it is.

The technician at the dealer that's working on it told me its normal for the 550s.

I'm sure that it doesn't bother most owners but its a tad loud for me.

Glad you're enjoying it! Those look like New England trails to me. Probably a wee bit higher, elevation-wise.

Probably close to 9000 ft there.

Here's when I left that old cabin where I took that "picturesque" picture and headed up the trail as far as I could go until the snow got too deep. No winch and no one to help I have to hold back a little sometimes.

I much prefer this 850 to the 550. It's soo much quieter and the power is nice to have when you need it.

I think I could do that for 100s of miles.

Does the AWD work all of the time when in AWD position? If it is intermitent maybe it's the switch the controls the AWD is faulty. Maybe it's not telling the ADC it's in AWD position, which it needs to be in order to engage. Does the way I said that make sense?

makes plenty of sense

the 4-wd works it just doesn't disengage sometime and both front wheels stay locked in

the little ADC indicator comes on when the ADC is "supposed" to be working and isn't

Sounds like it could be a simple intermitent switch issue or wire issue, not a mechanical issue. If the AWD won't disengage occasionally and the ADC won't engage periodically, but both work fine mechanically it would seem to be an electrical issue because they both are triggered from the same switch impulse. OPT???

In 2 1/2 weks the dealer has been unable to find anything wrong with the 550 Touring.

They want me to come down and ride it to see if I can get it to act up.

It acts up when I ride it and that's why I took it in to get fixed.

Can someone help me understand why they want me to ride it??

I think the 550 will be going back in exchange for something else.

Nothing more I would love to do is praise the manufacture (which I will for the things I like) and the dealer but I'm not so sure its going to be ending that way.

I wonder what's next?? I'm hoping I can keep the 850 thru the summer. (even if the ADC is intermittent )
