Default New 850 XP backfiring

My buddy just bought a 2011 850 XP and his first ride out backfired 3 times, any suggestions?

Thanks

Just ride it again and give it time to break in! If it keeps backfiring take it back to the dealer,it may need to have the computer reflashed, may be running a little lean ! OPT

As OPT said, don't worry about it and finish with the break in. Mine backfired several times during break in. I have read many different threads in different forums and this is not uncommon when the atv is new.

OK thanks OPT and Bobx2, i will tell him not to be concerned until break-in period is finished.

also to add- my 09 xp850 had around 200 miles on it when I bought it- and I remember it backfiring a few times when riding. I never really gave it any thought-
