Front-End Loader for ATV's
#1
I just looked in Farm Show Magazine and it showed an article about front-end loaders. This company out of Oregon has design mounting brackets for a SP500, Foreman, and Griz. The web site is www.smucker.net To me this looks like a pretty dumb idea. It would wreck an ATV. Why not just buy a small tractor?

I agree. You don't want to be carrying weight that much ahead of an ATV. The suspension isn't stiff enough, and it would be awfully tippy. You can find a skid steer that would do 5 times the work for about $2000 (around here, anyway), or you could rent one if needed.
It is kind of like putting a trailer hitch on a Yugo. It might work for occasional use, but it just was'nt designed for that sort of thing.

We had a kobuta compact tractor that was 4wd with a loader. It was to light to dig anything. It had new lug tires all the way around and it still couldn't dig anything.SO I doubt a atv is heavy enough.
We sold it because If you got anyweight in the bucket at all it was VERY unstable. You had to keep the bucket on the ground basicly at all times.I fliped it twice and after the second time it was gone.Luckily I was able to jump out of its way.

I went to the farm show in Louisville and I saw the sp500 with a loader. It looked like it might raise up high enough to go over the side of a pick-up, but only if the truck was a 2wd and sat low. The loader itself almost had the front end bottomed out. The thing made you walk away thinking, what would ya ever use it for. Most people thought it was a joke.
