I agree you get what you pay for with a winch. The Warn Rt is a good one.

 

The farm supply stores around here sell 1200 lb winches for around $120, you will likely want to get a mounting kit that fits your application as well. I also see a lot of winches on ebay for between 50 and $100, for just lifting a plow, I would think any of them would work, if you burn it up or it gets corroded due to water, they are easily replaceable.

 

Look t the kfi products winch and plows. They are just like a warn , only priced better.
