Default Battery terminal under Headlight pod

Can any one tell me what the 9 volt battery terminal under the headlight pod on my 2007 Polaris 800EFI is?
Thanks

could it possibly be to hold ECU memory if you are removing/ disconnecting the battery,or to hold any changeable settings on your pod display? I know in cars, they make a 9v battery adaptor so you dont lose your radio settings and other stuff when disconnecting the battery for service or replacement. I'm not a Polaris guy, so I am just guessing !! maybe OPT will chime in soon with the real answer !!

The 9 volt battery connection is used when you hook the atv up to the Digital Wrench software during diagnostic checks and reflashing. OPT
