Cant seem to find the clutch info i need.
#1
I just picked up a 2003 Scrambler 500 4x4. bone stock, and I am in the process of setting up the clutch. The belt was original and had probably 2" of deflection which is really bad. So I got a new belt (gonna return it for a rzr belt tho) The engagement rpms seem ok, maye a fuzz low, I am looking for more rpms while accelerating. it seems really doggy, especially off the line. My question is, I plan on riding tomorrow, So I would prefer to get new springs today, are there any good polaris primarys and/or secondarys I could pick up from my dealer today? I am looking for more grunt, cause I plan on climbing hills and sand. so let me know what you guys think. I am also thinking of just shimming the stock primary and setting up the secondary. btw I am in SW michigan.

you may first want to pull apart the secondary clutch and check the buttons (5430766Button, Ramp ) to make sure they are in good shape as they will make it seem the wheeler being doggy.

Yes I just took the secondary apart and the bottons have a decent flat spot, so I will be getting new ones. and I am considering gettine new stock springs for both, unless polaris offeres better ones

if you want to replace the clutch springs then i would go after market and just buy a kit like heel clicker(that is a tunable kit) or dalton, epi or other brands. if you could get a hold of ftwflh(one of the moderators) he knows the most about turning the scramblers and might even have springs to sell you for what you need. maybe send him a pm/email to see if he's around. just a thought.
