Default Help Identifying Mikuni carb

I have what I believe is a '99 Polaris Xplorer 2 stroke (I believe prev owner said it was '99 but manf date is 1/28/1998, so I assume '99 model year but could be late '98 model year) So how can you tell which model Mikuni carb it is? Please help, I am getting very frustrated with this. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum! Carbs are basically the same(if you have the Explorer 400) ,but do have different part numbers for the 98 and 99 model complete carbs because of different jetting. If the carb hasn't been tampered with the 98 model had a 200 main jet and a 30 pilot, the 99 had a 210 main jet and a 35 pilot jet. These along with different needle jet and jet needles would be the main difference. Down here they were really too rich even with the 200 main and we dropped em down to 190 main jets especially for the slow putting farmers and ranchers that complained about fouling plugs and also dropped the needle position. For the faster riders didn't have to touch the carbs that much. OPT
