Default Primary Clutch Weights

One of the weights on the priminary of my 2000 Sportsman 500 with engine braking is getting stuck. Do I need to replace all three weights or just the one that gets stuck?

Main reason the counter weights stick is because the clutch center plain bearing(#3585712) is worn and the clutch will wobble causing the counter weights to stick against the clutch shaft, usually when coming down to an idle. Plus if you can push straight down on the clutch, release and it sticks(sometimes a different counter weight will stick),then it's probably time to have the bearing replaced, plus might as well replace any other worn items, clutch buttons, etc while it's apart. Thank you very much. Only one weight seams to stick. Do the weights wear out? Should I replace the weight and the bearing or just the bearing?

Sorry for the basic questions. This is the first CVT clutch I worked on.

Usually it's just the plain bearing(on the ones I've replaced) The counter weights are usually the last thing to wear out. You must have a spider tool to tear apart the clutch, plus replace worn ramp buttons, check the one way bearing out ,plus replace the fiber and metal washers in front and rear of the one way if worn. I have the clutch puller tool (looks like a long bolt) and now I also need a spider tool, correct? Like this one:

Spider Rebuild tool Set for Polaris Clutches, Pin-Roller Remove tool, | eBay

Thanks again.

You need this tool to separate the clutch!!(Unless your $33 kit comes with this tool also??) Others may know of cheaper places to get one! OPT
