Default 2003 Polaris Predator 500 Oil Pump

I recently changed out the oil reservoir on my Predator and the process took longer than expected. My primary concern is that the oil pump may have lost its prime. Does anyone know if there is a way to determine if this has happened, or how to make sure that the pump did not lose prime? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Matt

Welcome to the forum! Just pinch off the oil tank vent line if in doubt about the oil pump when you crank it. This will cause the oil pump to prime up quickly if it has lost its prime. Oil pump and remote tank is similar to the Sportsman 500 and primes the same way. OPT.

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it. I just want to make sure that I'm have the right line figured out. The vent line is the line that comes out the top of the oil reservoir correct? I've been looking online for a diagram of the oil lines and flow directions, but I can't seem to find one. Thanks again for the help!
