No there's no frame thing. It's just a regular drain plug screwed into the bottom of the crankcase. The plug is very close to being 9/16 fine thread but I compared it to a 9/16 bolt and the threads are different and it doesn't seem to be metric either.
Any other tricks people have used to fix threads in aluminum cases besides replacing?

Never measured the bolts, but the gear case drain bolt should be sae threads as far as I remember.Hardware store is your best bet unless you have a tap and die set with pitch gauges. Still strange that it had the torque stop drain bolt, but doesn't have the frame support bolt in the middle? Are you the original owner? Have had some owners on older models use 3/8 NPT taps and used brass plugs for stripped out drain plugs, but think the 325 case wont allow this much. OPT

Sorry we got confused here. It's not the trans drain plug with the frame bolt, it's the engine oil drain plug.
I do have thread pitch gauges and the only one that seems to fit the best is SAE 20. But 9/16 bolts only come in 12 or 18 TPI. The one thing is the head of the drain bolt has a stamping on it that says "1/2 T" but it is defiantly not a 1/2 inch bolt so I don't know what the heck I have here.
This is a customers bike I'm fixing. The drain plug might not even be for this engine as it looks like someone has been messing around with this problem because there was an oversize nut on the plug (used as a spacer I presume). I think if I cant figure this out I'll get a regular 9/16 oil pan repair kit and just use a regular automotive 9/16 oil pan bolt. I'll try calling polaris also to see if they are any help.

Sorry, thought you were talking about trans drain plug. The engine oil drain plug will be metric since it's a Fugi engine if this helps any,BUT still don't know the size off hand. From memory would think it's around 10 mm x 1.25 pitch ?? Or 12mm x 1.25 pitch?? Probably wrong, but might give you a start? OPT

Seems when I stripped mine out
I retapped (carefully and flushed the case) it. Been so long I can't remember the size for sure, but take the plug and compare it to a spark plug. Just happened to have a tap for that and it worked. I'm leaning toward 12mm, but my memory ain't what it used to be and I've only had a few sips of coffee.
