500 Touring fit on a Triton ATV88 trailer?
#1
Hi, I currently have a Yamaha Wolverine 450 and Polaris Trailboss 325 which fit nicely on my Triton ATV88 trailer. I was hoping to sell my 325 in the near future and get a Polaris 500 Touring to replace it. Problem is I am not sure if it will fit sideways on my trailer. The trailer is 79" wide. From what I see online the 500 touring has a wheelbase of 57" + 25" tires = 82". So while it appears that the machine might barely hang off the trailer, it looks like the tires will more than fit on the trailer.
I was hoping someone out there has tried this and can let me know. The last thing I want to do is get the machine and then have to get a different trailer. Worse comes to worse if you guys don't know I'll take the trailer to the dealer and see if I can try the machine out on the trailer. Thanks in advance.

Like you said, I think it will fit. If the 57" wheelbase figure is correct you'll get from the center of each tire (57") plus 11" of each tire on the trailer. The total length of the quad is 86". So, you'll have about 3.5" hanging over each side. Your trailer works out better for this situation than the trailers that have the ramps that become the sides when you fold them up. I used to have a Polaris Sportsman X2 that rubbed on the fold up ramps/sides when I had that type of trailer.

I think the X2 has the same wheelbase but the bed makes it a little longer. Wheelbase seems like it should fit as it doesn't have the side ramps. I was actually considering the one with the side ramps when I got it! I might be lucky I got the one without them.

I have the 500 touring with this exact Triton trailer. The set up is fine. The overhang is barely noticeable and you'll find the right places in the frame to secure your tie-downs. We haul 2 atvs on it without a problem. You won't have any issues.

Thanks that is great to know. I actually just bought more adjustable tiedown points for the trailer. It came with two on each side, but having four on each side is great. I trailered the other day with my existing quads and they were rock solid with the extra attachment points.
