hey there my son has a scrambler 90 and im having some carb issues. the wheeler will start and idle, but dies as soon as i hit the gas. if i put my hand over the carb as to choke it out, it will run great. ive cleaned the carb and tried adjusting it but nothing changes. any ideas what the problem could be? thx!

 

Have you replaced the float needle? Have you blown out the main jet and pilot jet also, and made sure the small opening in the float bowl is open? Plus there is a small tube with a red plug on top of the carb that sometimes splits and could cause it to run lean. OPT

 

i have not replaced any parts in it. i did blow everything out tho. and i will check that tube. thank you!

 

so i cleaned the carb again, blew everything out, and checked that tube. it now comes out of the hole good, but falls flat shortly after. the air/fuel screw is almost all the way in.

 

Air screw should be about 1 to 1 3/8 turn out. Check that the tank vent into the three way valve is open. Could be having a vacuum lock. Look here under your model on the fuel tank. Browse OPT
