Poor service

I took my quad to the shop a few weeks ago due to the carb was flooding the engine and I didn't have the time to fix it myself. Well, I called the guy a week later and he still hadn't looked at it, 2 weeks later he still hadn't looked at it, and finally, 2 1/2 weeks later he called me. But get this, when I dropped the four wheeler of I said you can clearly see gas coming out of the overflow, you can even smell it. Well, he said that he couldn't get it to leak so he checked the tranny oil, changed the spark plug and cleaned the air filter. I get it home and ride for an hour, well, it leaks gas still but it does run. So a the next day I take off on a long ride, and right as I get 2 miles away from the house, it floods out and I couldn't get it started again. I had to wait 20 minutes for it to start again. I had to turn the gas on, let the carb fill up, turn the gas off and run the gas out of the carb all the way home, that way it wouldn't get too much gas, I am really dissapointed about service, I can't go to the local guys cause they are *****s and the guys I took it to don't know what they are doing, looks like I am stuck.

I can think of no other reason for puking gasoline out the dump tube except: float valve not sealing. There could be several reasons why the valve doesn't seal; trash/contamination on the float valve or seat being the most common one; the seat or valve could be buggered; the float linkage could be jammed; the float could be punctured and full of fuel, so it would not rise to the level of the float bowl; the float valve tang could be bent to the extent sealing is impossible . . .
My point: without at least dropping the carb float bowl (removal and disassembly of the carb, more likely), I don't see how the shop could diagnose or treat the problem. Further, that part of the maintenance procedure alone shouldn't take more than a flat-rate hour; hard to imagine the shop couldn't get to your ATV in such a long time.
From the information you provide, Polarisman3210, you might look for another "dedicated staff of factory-trained service technicians."

I had the same problem on my 500. The solution is when it starts to flood out just pin it for a good while sounds rough but it worked, but if that dont work just clean the carb because you probabley hace a little piece of dirt on the point that the float raises and lowers

it's like that down here in texas too. the good thing about polaris is that they are popular so dealerships are not that hard to find. there is a dealer in columbus (20 miles away) but he is as worthless as **** on a boarhog. to get a good dealer one has to drive to new braunfels (80 miles), bastrop (38 miles), or brenham (37 miles).
