2006 Polaris Predator starting problem
#1
Need help. My boys 2006 predator 50 we replaced the battery, stator, and the starter. The starter was a cheap 40.00 china starter. It wants to crank over but cranks slow. It will kick over with no problem at all by kick start, but when using the starter sometimes it works but turns real slow. Please help. I give up. Maybe the brand new china starter is a bad one??? I hear the relay in rear working but hard to turn over. Battery is new.
Will the relay make the starter turn slow

Look up your model under "starter" item #16 starter idle gear(behind the clutch cover). I've had a lot of problems over the years with these either caked with belt dust or broken teeth. Could be why the starter is in a bind, idle gear may not be able to turn free enough to spin the engine fast. Browse OPT

Thank you
When I pulled the old starter out it had belt dust all on the teeth. Inside I could see it on the gears on the motor. Also the predator has a high pitch sound coming from the belt side in the engine. The belt must be worn.
Thanks again
