problem

Default problem

I have a 1996 Polaris 400 4x4 and all of a sudden it quit tore the carb off cleaned it still nothing, new fuel filter nothing. My dad has an identical one and it is a lot zippier, mine has never been that good. Any ideas?

Welcome! Check the simple things first,may be just a fouled plug since you said it wasn't running right? Also do a compression check and check that you have good spark. If compression is lower than 120 psi,possibly time for a new top end,etc. OPT

I go through plugs like crazy. If i ride all day long I use at least one plug.

Well you said you "cleaned" the carb,but did you replace the needle and seat (bad on this model for wear) Plus like I mentioned earlier,a compression test will show you which way to go whether it's fuel related causing plug fouling or low compression causing problems.. OPT

compression test is my next step, im plannin on doing the top end this winter. I rebuilt the carb as well.
