But we ride in places that are really not the best for the bike, and the wife isn't as daring as I am, lol. So between the mud, grit, grime, etc, and her "cautiousness", she's a little hard on the brakes.

EBC SV is the way to go. I ride in the Florida Mud/sand and water most of the time, also many miles in the hills of Tenn. The pads ware even and i have strong breaking in any condition. My X2 is over 1000lbs lodded with my wife and I riding. I have over 4500 miles on the ATV and just put the 2nd set of EBC SV's on and the disks look fine. The first set had meat left on them so i put them in the parts box for that just in case you need them time. I find them much better then the OEM that lasted about 900 miles.
