400 explorer fouling plug

Stormy:
I must ask if anyone has taken the carb off and inspected it?
With any 2-Stroke, the carb must be set for the environment the engine runs in. The outside temp and altitude must be considered.
Is the main jet the proper size and needle set per the owner's manual? When finding out this info, make sure the air filter has been replaced or use a good cleanable version like K&N and keep it clean! Be sure that the air cleaner rubber boots are install properly, this can be a small trick for some! Use some good old grease on the air cleaner top and bottom to insure a good seal also.
I am also assuming that a new plug is being used once the plug fowls out and it is the correct plug to use?
I get a full season on my Xplorer plug (s) and I do replace them just for the heck of it every year. I do about 800 to 1200 miles a year and travel from 4000' to 11000' in my riding area, range from snowy conditions to very hot (lets fry an egg) temp! I change my main jet for the type of riding I am in and only once I have I ever fowled a plug, this is for around 8000 miles total on three Xplorers.
