Check the "sticky" post right above yours on free manuals in this forum and see if the link still works. Plus there are plenty of pdf manuals online. "96-98 all models" is the pdf I have and is the same as the hard cover one we had at the shop. Also you can check Ebay and dealers for a paper copy if you wish. Try to stay away from Haynes or Clymer manuals as they aren't clear on a lot of things as the shop manuals are. OPT

picked it up today. My 1st maintenence will be brakes. Any special tips for the rear and fronts? There is no pedal feel on the rear. I have to pump the front. How difficult is it to replace the neutral ight indicator?

A manual will help better but on replacing the front and rear pads, just remove the calipers, pry in between the pads to force back the piston, remove the 3/16' allen screw to allow clearance to remove the pads and replace. Reinstall caliper, pump up the brakes, tighten the allen screw on each front caliper until you feel a slight drag, then back off 1/8 turn. If the brakes just feel spongy, you can use shop towels to remove the fluid in the master cylinder, fill with dot 4,pump up the brakes. While holding the lever tight open the front left 1/4" bleed screw on the caliper.Pump up the master cylinder again, repeat for the right and rear caliper while keeping the master cylinder full of fluid. The foot brake pedal adjuster can get frozen on this model if left outside a lot. You turn the screw on the caliper arm in while holding the foot pedal. This adjusts the pedal up. Stop when you have 3/8" clearance from the bottom of the foot petal to the floorboard.Look here on your model under "rear brake" part number 34. Browse 4040054 is the neutral light part number. It just pops out of the upper headlight pod.Easy to replace. OPT

Ok, I couldn't download from the ftp on the sticky but I bought one for 13 bucks online. Is there a bias adjustment right to left?

Thanks!

Nope! You're probably thinking about a Honda and the brake adjuster wheel if your talking about the hydraulic brakes. Polaris uses pads, not shoes. All the front caliper set screws do is align the caliper to the rotor. When you feel a slight drag, back off the screw 1/8 turn until the hub and rotor turns freely. If you're talking about the front wheel alignment all you can do is toe out/toe in. Camber is not adjustable. OPT
