Polaris Quad with KTM 525 Racing Keihin carb clean
Hi all,
I have a Polaris Outlaw IRS 525 KTM Racing engine quad with a dirty Keihin carb. 2007 model. She's been standing for a while but in mint condition otherwise.
Carb looks just like a YFZ 450 carb, slide type.
Is it an easy clean or are there technical pitfalls? It idles very rough, sometimes high and then stalls. She runs like a demon in the open but splutters in the twisties.
Where can I get a carb kit? Local Polaris dealership in Boksburg closed a few years ago.
I'm proficient with tools and good company
Thanks in advance!

This is about the cheapest place for oem parts online. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Plus you can check Ebay for kits for the 525 if any are available. Not that hard to clean up the jets, etc, but you might be best to replace the needle and seat while in there.Basically all you need is the gasket and needle and seat as the jets can be reused. OPT

Yes, they used the FCR on both the KTM and YFZ and pretty much any other 450 ish carbed racing motor in the past few years(your 525 is the same as the KTM 450, just with a larger piston.) I think the FCR is pretty easy to work on. Be careful/gentle with the TPS wires if so equipped though.
