Needless to say I was VERY disappointed. I thought it would have some power, but it was not there. I really love the way the bike looks and it is probably one of the best looking sport quads out there but the performance isn't there.. This bkie is TRUELY a beginner bike. Maybe I will see how the 500 scrambler and 350 warrior do.

Yes, the TB is definitly not the most powerful quad out there. But it is very easy to hop up. Add a clutch kit and a pipe for a very noticable power boost. In my opinion, try some mods before you give up on it. It definitly wakes up. Grant it, it will never be like a Scrambler, but it becomes a lot more fun.

it is a under $3000 quad, do you expect it to run like a $5000/7000 quad? it is like snowmobiles even if they are the same the more you pay the faster they are!!!

Exactly! You get what you pay for - if you want the peformance of a Scambler, Banshee or 400ex you'll have to pay $2,000 - $4,000 more. For the money the TB is great, as long as you don't expect Mach 4......

I think the quad is very reliable. I have had mine for a year and a half. The only problem I had was my fault. i ran into a large rock and bent and a-arm. Other then that, I have had no mechanical problems at all, all I add is oil and gas.

The speed of the machine is ok. For the money it is good. Top end is between 45 and 50mph. In stock form the machine is alright for power, but it really needs some mods to wake it up. Adding a pipe, clutching, and maybe a few other goddies will definitly help. These will add plenty of low to mid power, and some top. But they usually will not raise the top speed more then a mph or two.

Although I don't ride any "true" dunes, there is a sand riding area near me. It has a few large sand hill. These are real sand hills, not loose dirt. If you don't have the power, you will end up spinning and digging into the hill half way up.
I have yet to not make it up the hill.
In the real dunes, I would say the machine is plenty enough for fun, especially if you don't expect it to beat anyone to the top of the hills. After all, it is not a racer.

For the money you can't really go wrong.

For the same money a balster is faster and has more power......but it has NO reverse and NO electric start... big down fall... I am still intrested in getting one,,though I really hate to get it and have to mod it up to perform what I want it to... Though the 500 2x4 scrambler is NASTY!!!! We went riding this weekend and my friend has one and he never got stuck with the factory tires!!!! we went through mud atleast 2 feet deep!!!! AWESOME... this bike has given me back my faith about POLARIS!!.

Exprider,
I was wondering if you were still shopping. I rode a Scrambler 500 4x4 when I was shopping a while back. I was very impressed. However, I thought it might be too much for me to handle since this was my first quad and I didn't want a 4X4.

Just wondering if you've tried the 400? It's another beauty.
