I,m sure 5w is fine but the lower the first number means it has a better cold flowing start up temp. the last number is only the viscosity once the motor is up to operation temp. In that case the higher the number the better.

 

I just started using rotella t6, so far so good, seems to operate smoother and quieter compared to stock stuff

 

My son and I both noticed smoother shifting on our motor cycles also after we changed from using Mobil 1 4T to Rotella T6. This is a heavy duty synthetic originally designed for diesel engines,but a lot of cycle guys are using it now and have been for several years.On a lot of forums Rotella T6 is brought up often as oil they prefer over designated cycle oils. I have been using the rotella in my street bikes for years now. Not only do I like how it works, I really like how much it costs. Wish I could get do a synthetic oil change on the cars for that much.

 

Yeah the price is good and so is the availability. Good stuff
