Default What could be wrong with this quad? Polaris 350cc

Hi, i have seen an ad for a polaris 350 quad. I am unsure of the years etc -It has been stood for a while in a barn. The engine starts but when it is put into gear nothing happens. It may sound a bit wishy washy but I don't know any more than that, however I would appreciate some suggestions as to what the problem could be!! I haven't seen it yet but am trying to gauge whether it would be an easy fix or not!

Could be as simple as needing a chain/sprockets or belt or clutch work. On old machines you're taking a chance. Could be a good find, but many turn out to be money pits in the long run. Just my opinion I would look at a later model machine. These were good machines in their day,but repairing them can be expensive. Not including exterior parts, tires, suspension, awd(if equipped),etc the motor alone has a lot more parts than say a later model Sportsman 500,etc. Look at the breakdown of the engine. This doesn't include the oil pump, etc.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Between a 90-93 model if it's a 350 Look on the right side down frame, should have a "W" then either 90 to 93.Example("W938139" 1993 4x4) This would be the year model. The 400 engine came out in 1994. The frame number should be on the reverse side.Plus if it's been removed, ground down, etc look on the recoil to see if the engine sticker is still on it. The first two digits are the year model. This machine looks pretty rough body wise! Clutch air tube laying on the foot rest? Does it have a clutch cover? OPT
