Default Dealer pricing

I am looking at a 2006 Sportsman 600 at a Polaris dealer. He is about $1400.00 above kbb. Will a dealer come off the price on an ATV like haggling for a car?

Thanks
Greg

On a used one, I would think they have more wiggle room than on a new one. Pretty safe bet they didn't give them top dollar on a trade in. Did they say it was a 2006 model? Think they only made them 2003, 04 and 05.

So he's at around 5K? I'd be surprised if they gave the person trading it in 2k. If you have 2500 cash, that would be my top offer. Probably less.

Remind them they're getting back the money they paid, plus they sold a brand new one when they took it in. Now you're helping them clear the inventory so the next person will come in and buy new.

One thing though, is a dealer should give you some kind of warranty even on there used ones.

Bad part is the dealer will sell it for more then he payed the guy who traded it in and the taxes are above board unlike a private used deal.

I like to head the seller off and give him $2000 with a $1000 bill of sale well before he trades in his ATV at a dealership for $2000 and the dealer re sells it for $3000 with full taxes.

I had an 06 800 sportsman- not sure about the 600cc.
I wouldn't pay more than $4500 for an 05 (or 06) 600- and I wouldn't add too much to the top dollar if it has lots of "extra's" on it also-

no used atv's come with warranties around here (mass, nh, me ct, ri) from dealers unless you opt to purchase an extended warranty. ATV's are also exempt from lemon laws because it's classified as a "recreation vehicle"

be very thorough when inspecting your "new" used atv!

whats the mileage? Accessories? Condition? All those play huge part in value. none of which was mentioned. To say what he is asking is way out of line is crazy until you know all that info.
