my uncle has a 2000 xpolar and he rebuilt it and put it back together and it will run but for only a couple minutes then shut of i think its eletrical but if you have any ideas or had this problem,let me know it would help him out thanks.

 

Have him start at the basics first. Check compression,even though you say he's rebuilt it. When it quits running just pull the plug cap and install a spare plug and see if it still has spark.

 

okay i did has good compression and gets spark after it dies.

 

Then next step is to check that you have a good fuel flow,if good flow when you pull the fuel line at the carb ,then check into the carb for any varnish build up on the inside.If flow is weak,fuel valves can stop up also from trash on the Explorer 250 and 400 models. fuel was my thought as well...is iT running long enough for it to get warm? could the coil be getting hot and quitting ? It happens (or used to happen) on cars a long time ago. OPT?

 

He said it has spark after it dies and said it had good compression,but didn't say how much?
