Default Rear propshaft roll pin?

I saw the damage it can do to the trans case (on another forum...) if it comes out. Wears a hole in trans case.

Should I push it out and put a metric bolt with nylok nut (and locktite)?

Very seldom do roll pins come out,but yes they can cause damage if they do and the owner doesn't catch it in time. If in doubt(or if a roll pin can move easily with a punch and hammer, just go to Ace hardware, etc and get a new one. The new one should take a lot of force to seat it in place. Plus you can take a dremel and slightly flatten both ends. It can still be removed later if necessary.

Thanks OPT. Sounds like something else to keep an eye on. If it has not moved, I will leave it be.

If you ever remove a roll pin you should replace it with a new one. When one comes lose I have to wonder if it was an old one that was reused.

Had major issues with that on my 05 800sp. Wrecked one tranny that my dealer thankfully replaced at no charge(was out of warranty). Kept a wary eye on them after that and both front and rear pins started working their way out again (caught before any damage). Replaced with a shear bolt/nylock nut and zero issues after.
