air filter maintenance

i have a 05 sportsman 500 with the stock air filter, and was wondering how to clean and oil the filter. and what oil should i use can i use k&n?

You don't oil the filter! Just clean the outer sleeve in soapy water or filter cleaner and if the paper filter isn't too dirty you can blow out some of the light dust. If really dirty just replace it.
