1998 Polaris Trail Blazer 250ES does not start anymore
#21
Okay, so my confusion was really because polaris gave me the wrong part. It wasn't the clutch side crank seal we were given and replaced. So we got the two crank seals. Put the pto side on and now the quad isnt revving high anymore, it just dies when you shut the choke off. We have cleaned the carb and adjusted it every which way and it still just dies when you shut the choke off. We figured the next step was to do the other side but we are having an issue getting the flywheel off. Any tips? We tried a puller and still no luck.

Use a harmonic balancer puller. You can buy one or rent one from any auto store. On some of the older ones that the flywheel has been on a while, you need to apply heat from a propane torch around the shaft area while you have have pressure on the puller. The flywheel will sometimes just pop off or a sharp tap from a dead blow hammer or a block of wood on the puller can help pop it loose. Just don't damage the crank shaft end!
