Default '96 Sportsman 400 - No spark

Hi everyone,

I just picked up a '96 Sportsman 400 with no spark. I took the multi-meter to it to check the ohms, and everything was within specs except for the pulser coil and the ground to the ignition coil. To get a reading from the pulser coil does the engine have to be turned over? The bottom bolt holding the ignition coil to the frame does not have a nut on it, could this be the reason it is not grounded?

White to White/red on the pulse/pick up coil should be 97 ohms, Red to Black/red should be 226 ohms, coil tab to ground should be 0.3 ohms.If the pulse/pick up coil is the only thing out of spec, you can get it here.Ricky Stator As long as the ground(brown) wires are either attached to the coil or a good frame mount they should be okay. Resistance specs are with the ignition off..

I purchased a new battery, ignition coil, and pusler coil. Hopefully I will getting them later this week and will have some luck. I will let you know how it goes.
