Rebuilt Polaris Predator Wont Rev go past 1/4 throttle
#1
I just got done restoring my 2005 Polaris predator. I started right up for the first time and sounds great. I primed the oil pump and go everything ready to go, which worked very well. After letting it warm up, I tried to rev it a little, but all it does is pop a little and die out. I was watching the carb and it seems that the plastic guard of some sort with the needle jet it not moving as much as it should when you give it throttle. Almost like it is out of sync. I also know that this runs the fuel pump and don't really know exactly how that vacuum system works. Thanks

Don't know if this helps, but the "p" on the fuel pump is the vacuum line that goes to the carb. You can pull the main gas line from the carb and crank the engine over. It should have a reasonable "pulse" of fuel flowing or some even have a continuous stream. If fuel flow is ok, possible internal carb problem.Fuel flow weak, then possible trashed up/leaking pump that needs a kit or replacement or a stopped up fuel valve.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

That happens a lot on the Predator.A lot of people over look this. The shim under bucket system has to adjusted as often as the Outlaw does since they are both racing machines.
