Default Outlaw 50 starter question

My son has a 2011 Outlaw 50 that won't start. When I push the start button it just clicks near the tail light. It looks like it's a solenoid that's clicking when the start button is pushed. I first thought my son killed the battery, so after trying to charge it with the same results, I thought the battery was bad and bought a new one. After charging the new battery, I realized it was something different because it was still making the clicking sound and not starting. Any idea's? Has anyone experienced this same problem?
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance!

Check with an ohm meter or test light on the starter wire when you try to crank it. If there isn't voltage, then the most likely cause is the starter relay.Item #12. Especially if it just clicks. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
