Default 03 Polaris Sportsman 600 - ignition kit

I have an 03 Polaris Sportsman 600 with no spark - I ordered the Ignition kit and I just started to put it on. The first thing I put on was the voltage regulator (PN 2204317) - there is (2) pigtails coming out of it that are yellow with red stripes - the old one only had (1) yellow wire with red stripe? Do I have the wrong regulator? Or is there an adaptor that I am missing?

Look in your kit package, should be two jumper harnesses. One is for the 600,one for the 700 and not used. Also make sure you have a good ground on the stator brown wire. Doesn't really show, but it mounts under the stator pick up coil harness plate. There is an unused red wire usually deep up in the harness that you have to find and use it also.

I am having problems trying to attach a picture to the post - any ideas on how to do this? I can see the pictures that I put in yesterday but it sounds like you cannot.

I have changed my profile picture to show the voltage regulator installed - as you can see - I have an extra yellow wire with red stripe.

Can barely make out the picture, but on the regulator it should say LR-302 that is used for both the 600 and 700 engines. Plus there are three harness adapters and not all are used(at least not on the 700 model). Still think you're not hooking the jumpers up correctly as one ties into the unused red, another jumper from it, then to the regulator. Been awhile since I've done one. Hopefully some others that have done the 600 recently can give you some better instructions.

MAn it was 2 years ago when I did mine. I vaguely remeber their being 3 different jumpers and using 2 of them??? I can see the photos either. I know the main thing was to locate the hidden wire or connector that was buried in the wiring and there a was an unused adapter in the kit. I don't necessarily remember that the wiring jumpers made sense or color matched, but it seemd there was only one way to connect everything with the diffeent jumpers. If you still haven't gotten it figured out I could try and get some photos of mine to compare....
